The Basketball Ireland Player & Coaches of the Year for the 2017/18 season have been reported. The awards were voted for by the head coaches in each of the divisions, by an award for Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year & Coach of the Year in each league. The Men's Young Player of the Year award meantime has been awarded to Eoin Rockall of Maree, next a solid debut season by the Galway team at Super League standard. In the ladies's Super League, DCU Mercy's Sarah Woods has scooped the Player of the Year award after a phenomenal season for Mark Ingle's side. In the ladies's Division 1, Kelly O'Hallahan has been named this year's Player of the Year next a fantastic showfor Marble City Hawks this season that saw them promoted to the ladies's Super League.

Twenty students to attend session by Manchester GiantsStudents & staff from QEII High School basketball team will visit Manchester following 30 days, by backing from property Inc. Dandara. The school has organised for 20 students & 3 members of staff to go on the trip to watch English Basketball League team Manchester Giants play Plymouth Raiders, & take portion in a training session by a Manchester Giants coach. As portion of the sponsorship, that is portion-funded by Dandara, the students & staff have received personalised travel kit to wear on the trip. PE instructorRebecca Dunne tells the students have worked exceptionally difficulty over the past couple of years & have demonstrated their commitment to the sport.
