Summer Games Done Quick 2018 sets another fund-raising record Breaks $2 million barrier for Doctors Without BordersSummer Games Done Quick closed out its final 24 hours by raising nearly $1 million in donations, to set another series record and send $2.1 million to Doctors Without Borders. Summer Games Done Quick formally ended around 3 a.m. with a wrap up show streamed live from the marathon's site in Bloomington, Minnesota. In all, 153 games were speedrun, most of them by their world record holders, since the event got underway at 12:30 p.m. last Sunday. The next Games Done Quick event will be Games Done Quick Express at TwitchCon, Oct. 26-28 in San Jose, Calif. That mini-marathon will support the charities participating in TwitchCon's Charity Plaza.






Summer Games Done Quick 2018 raises over $2.12 million for Doctors Without Borders


The speedrunning marathon Summer Games Done Quick 2018 just wrapped up a week of great (and fast) gaming that streamed live on Twitch, and the event managed to raise $2,122,529 for Doctors Without Borders. That is a new record for Summer Games Done Quick. This year's AGDQ raised $2,294,612 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This is the first time the summer marathon has raised over $2 million. After the closing ceremony, Games Done Quick announced that AGDQ 2019 will take place in Rockville, Maryland.

The medical charity provides healthcare for people that need it most around the world, including those affected by conflict and natural disasters.
