Colorado State suspends interim basketball coach Steve Barnes

FORT COLLINS – Colorado State athletic director Joe Parker walked into Moby Arena on Saturday morning, only before the shootaround for the men's basketball team, to say the players interim head coach Steve Barnes had been put on paid administrative leave. Barnes, CSU's associate head coach, was selected interim head coach Feb. three while Parker placed head coach Larry Eustachy on administrative leave. CSU center Nico Carvacho, Bonner & Herl all declined to comment Saturday on Barnes' removal as interim coach. CSU players boycotted a Thursday practice final 7 days in response to what they termed a lack of communication by Parker. Barnes was too pending in 2003 a day after he was named Iowa State's interim head coach while Eustachy was fired.

Larry Eustachy's tenure as Colorado State's men's basketball coach is over, according to a source by knowledge of the university's decision. "Coach Eustachy & his representatives are unable to meet by America until early following 7 days. A 2013-14 investigation of Eustachy led by previous Rams' athletic director Jack Graham set the coach emotionally & verbally abused players. In which investigation, Eustachy admitted which he "crossed the line" & "went method over the line" while it came to creating a culture of fear & intimidation.
