Appalachian State Mountaineers tennis coach pending over comment with player

BOONE, N.C. -- A North Carolina college men's tennis coach has been pending after 1 of his players made a racially found guilty comment to an opposing player. The Winston-Salem Journal reports Appalachian State University athletics officials reported Tuesday which coach Bob Lake was pending next a description of the incident. The Appalachian State player, freshman Spencer Brown of Spartanburg, South Carolina, was pending Monday after a black opponent tweeted which Brown told him "at least I know my father" during their weekend match. In addition to the suspension, Appalachian State Chancellor Sheri Everts is calling for an assessment of the school's diversity & inclusion practices. Brown, who's white, was pending indefinitely after Sunday's match by John Wilson of North Carolina A&T State University, a historically black college.
