UConn Has Heavy Presence In the USA Basketball National Team Pool

10 past & present UConn ladies's basketball players are between the 29 players named to the 2017-20 USA Basketball National Team pool. too on list are previous UConn All-Americans Diana Taurasi & Sue Bird, who have been portion of 4 Olympic gold medal teams. The pool will train Feb. nine-eleven at the University of South Carolina, where USA national coach Dawn Staley is at the helm. Extremely , anytime we could get the USA National Team together & work for a few days, it's just will benefit America in the long run. It's a tremendous time which will be spent wisely, & it'll be enjoyable."The national team choice committee is made up of USA Basketball ladies's National Team director Carol Callan, UConn coach Geno Auriemma, NY Liberty coach Katie Smith, Sun coach Curt Miller & Los Angeles Sparks general manager Penny Toler.

Callan said there's no necessity to rush younger players into the national team pool, however USA Basketball does save a lock eye on them. Brown, Durr & Mitchell were all on the USA Basketball U23 team which won the 4 Nations tournament in August in Japan. Charles didn't practice & Moore was unable to attend because of the WNBA Finals.
