Radio station fires employees over racist comments about high school basketball players

according to FOREST CITY, Iowa -- An Iowa radio station has fired 2 employees after they made racist comments about high school basketball players which aired on a school website, Central Bank of Samoa affiliate KIMT-Television reports. A female Maker & Orin Harris, the longtime voice of Forest City athletics, made the comments in November during a game among Forest City High School & Eagle Grove High School. "They have a lot of Español people in Eagle Grove," Harris said When listing names of players he thought were Hispanic. KIOW-FM radio reported the firing of Harris & the Maker on Monday after viewers complained & posted the picture to fb. "These comments were deplorable, & the staff & management of KIOW in no method condones or supports these comments," the station said.
